The effect of progressive sarcoma 180 growth upon the uterotrophic response to estrogen in mice.

چکیده
The uterotrophic responses to various doses of estradiol benzoate, estrone, and estriol were investigated in ovariectomized Sarcoma 180-bearing mice at different stages of tumor growth. The data indicate that the uterine response was decreased as tumor growth progressed when compared with that of the tumor-free ovariectomized control animals. Restricting food intake by pair-feeding did not alter the uterine response to estradiol benzoate in the tumor-free animals but did diminish the estrogen induced uterine growth in tumor-bearing animals.

The Correlation between the Endometrial Integrins and Osteopontin Expression with Pinopodes Development in Ovariectomized Mice in Response to Exogenous Steroids Hormones
Background: The ovariectomized animals are good models to evaluate the effect of different steroid hormone treatments on implantation events and the pattern of integrin expression. Therefore, this study was performed to compare the expression of integrins and osteopontin (OPN) in correlation with pinopode development in ovariectomized mice endometrium which was subjected to steroid hormones. Me...
متن کاملThe effect of sarcoma 180 and other stressing agents upon adrenal nucleic acids.
The effects of Sarcoma 180, heterologous tissue implantation, and daily injections of turpentine upon adrenal and liver nucleic acids were investigated. Progressive tumor growth caused an initial elevation in adrenal ribonucleic acid (RNA) which was followed by a return to control levels. Adrenal deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) con centration was increased during most of the period of tumor growth....
متن کاملThe effect of intrastriatal injection of estrogen on pallidal field potential and rigidity in Parkinsonian -ovariectomized rats
The major pathological feature of Parkinson’s disease (PD) is a progressive loss of dopamine-producing neurons of the substantia nigra pars compacta (SNc), resulting in a reduction of dopamine (DA) content in the target field of these neurons, the striatum (STR). The present evidences suggest that female sex hormones may influence the onset and severity of PD symptoms. PD is more prevalent in m...

متن کاملIn vitro & in vivo estrogenic activity of glycoside fractions of Solanum nigrum fruit
BACKGROUND & OBJECTIVES The mature fruits of Solanum nigrum contains steroidal glycosides. These are often used as vegetable and there are evidences on tribal use of these fruits as an oral contraceptive. The present study was carried out to evaluate the estrogenic potential of S. nigrum fruits by in vitro and in vivo assays. METHODS Defatted methanol extract of dried S. nigrum fruits was col...
